What Is JUVÉDERM®?

As mentioned above, we offer the JUVÉDERM® Collection of Fillers. These products can be used on anyone 21 years of age or older. JUVÉDERM® is made up of a synthetic form of hyaluronic acid (HA) that increases and maintains your skin’s moisture and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. When injected underneath the skin, it restores volume and results in a smooth, natural appearance to make the treated area appear fuller and firmer. JUVÉDERM® is non-surgical and quick, and it produces significant, long-lasting results. Even though this filler can last between six and 18 months, we do recommend that you schedule maintenance sessions to keep up the appearance you desire.

Where Can JUVÉDERM® Be Used?

Our Filler Process

We hear the question “How often should I have filler?” To be honest, it isn’t an easy one-answer-fits-all type of question. At Metropolitan Skin Clinic, we like to build upon the filler as a journey. We will start with a few syringes and then do a follow-up after six weeks to find out if more filler is needed or not. This process allows us to see how your body handles the filler and gives you a chance to make sure that you are loving your results. Once “full correction” is achieved, then maintenance treatments are suggested every six months to one year. Our injectors are passionate, experienced, and highly trained, ensuring that you will be satisfied when you come in for your filler appointment. 

The Appointment

During the actual treatment session, we will help you select the right product to use. We will then examine the desired treatment area to determine the proper dosage and injection point(s). Each appointment varies in duration and can last from one hour to several hours, depending on the amount of product being placed. You will be provided with aftercare instructions that prohibit things like working out, applying makeup 24 hours after, pressing on the filled areas, and more. While this treatment is relatively easy, it does come with a few limitations on what you can do after your filler treatment to ensure proper results.
